Jon Brilliant
Chief Financial Officer

Jon Brilliant serves as Chief Financial Officer of WellDoc, overseeing the company’s finance, legal and regulatory matters.

Prior to joining WellDoc, Brilliant was one of three partners who launched the Atelier Fund, a private equity fund focused on the luxury goods marketplace in early 2006.

Prior to Atelier, Brilliant was the managing director for the U.S. operations of Syntek Capital AG, a €400 million European private equity fund with offices in Munich, Milan, London and Tel Aviv which invested in media and technology.

Before joining Syntek, Brilliant was director of business development at Harrods in London where he was responsible for worldwide business development, strategy and eCommerce, as well as overseeing aspects of the personal portfolio of private companies of the Harrods' owner.

Brilliant was the Chief Web Officer of JM Family Enterprises, Inc., currently one of the 20 largest privately held companies in the United States with over $12 billion in revenue. In this role, he was responsible for overall Internet strategy and development.

In addition to holding a board of director position at WellDoc, Brilliant also sits on the boards of ADAM, Harrys of London, Kaenon, Avelle and Portero. He also previously served on the board of directors of WildBrain, C2Media and eCommLink.

Brilliant holds a bachelor’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University and a graduate degree from Duke University. He is the father of a type 1 diabetic child.

Suzanne Sysko Clough, MD
Founder & Chief Medical Officer

Suzanne Sysko Clough, MD, serves as the Chief Medical Officer of WellDoc. She oversees the clinical aspects used in the development of the company’s Web and mobile-based diabetes management platform.

Dr. Clough previously served in the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Division of Endocrinology: Diabetes and Nutrition and was the medical director of the Center for Weight Management and Wellness, each located in Baltimore. As part of her educational responsibilities, she developed a nutrition and wellness curriculum for fourth-year medical students.

As a physician at the Joslin Center for Diabetes at the University of Maryland, Dr. Clough utilized a multidisciplinary team to empower her patients to adopt healthier lifestyle behaviors

She has also served as the founder and the medical director of the “Get Fit Maryland! The 10,000 Steps Program,” in which, she designed a statewide, private/public community outreach program to raise awareness on obesity. Within this role, Dr. Clough developed and implemented a 12-week medically-based exercise program for more than 7,000 Maryland residents.

Dr. Clough received a bachelor’s degree in biology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Maryland’s School of Medicine in Baltimore. She completed her residency program and endocrinology fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Systems. During her fellowship, Dr. Clough received specialized training on lipids at Duke University and weight management at Columbia University. She is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology.

Dr. Clough is a member of the American Diabetes Association, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and American Association of Diabetes Educators.

Stewart Greenebaum
Director

Stewart Greenebaum is past chairman of the board for the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), which also includes University Hospital, the State of Maryland's Shock Trauma Center and the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center. Greenebaum has been widely recognized as a dynamic leader of one of the U.S.’s leading teaching hospitals.

A lifelong Baltimore resident, he serves as president of Greenebaum and Rose Associates, a privately-held, full-service, real estate development and management company with offices in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. Founded in 1981, the firm has extensive experience in the full spectrum of development, from revitalizing historic downtown properties to new development in both urban and suburban markets.

John Hawks
Director

John Hawks is a pioneer in using professional information network (PINs) data as a sales force tool. He is credited with being the first person to translate the scientific research on social networks into a commercial application in the B2B market.

Hawks founded COMSORT in 1989. Working with leading researchers, COMSORT established a series of interactive workshops to transfer knowledge and skills from the research community to practicing physicians.

He studied diffusion of innovation and social network analysis literature and began to experiment with data collection techniques and systems to analyze data. Hawks determined that physicians operate within a very structured environment of interrelatedness and that innovations tend to follow the paths of advice-seeking and trust.

Anand K. Iyer, Ph.D, MBA
President & Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Anand Iyer serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of WellDoc. He has more than 20 years of consulting, industrial and academic experience in the areas of business strategy development, network engineering, economic modeling, service development and value network analysis. He most recently held the position of director in the Communications Industry Group at PRTM Management Consultants. In this role, Dr. Iyer led PRTM's Wireless Solutions practice where he focused on helping companies in both the commercial and government sectors capitalize on the convergence of three mega trends: Internet ubiquity, emerging wireless technologies and innovative business models. He is a pioneer in the realm of Telematics and Telemedicine, where he has developed and launched several initiatives with OEMs to transition their basis of competition from a product-base to a service-base.

Dr. Iyer is also the founder and immediate-past president of the In-Building Wireless Alliance, a cross-industry, non- profit aimed at accelerating the adoption of in-building wireless for the real estate and public safety communities.

Prior to joining PRTM, Dr. Iyer was a member of the scientific staff at Bell Northern Research and Nortel Networks.

He holds a Ph.D., MS in electrical and computer engineering and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Iyer holds a BE degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carleton University.

Dr. Iyer is a member of the IEEE, Society for Photo-Optic Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE) and Sigma Xi. In 2007, he was voted one of the top 35 global wireless executives by Realcomm. He is also a type 2 diabetes patient and WellDoc end-user.

Ryan Sysko
Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Ryan Sysko serves as Chief Executive Officer of WellDoc, leading the company to improve chronic disease management through clinical and technological innovation.

Sysko has extensive background in helping to launch and develop start-up companies. He was previously the vice president and director of marketing and business development for The Credo Group, one of the leading direct-to-consumer marketers of life and health insurance products on the Web. While in this position, Sysko led efforts that resulted in tripling their operating income and helped double the company's insurance client base.

Prior to The Credo Group, Sysko was the CEO and founder of the Assurance Marketing Group, a marketing agency located in Wilmington, Delaware. There he also focused on the direct distribution of life and health insurance products online.

Sysko was one of 20 employees initially hired at Juniper Bank, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Barclays. In addition, he has served in management positions within financial services companies such as Chase, Bank of America and Conseco.

He received a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania.

Yves Nordmann, MD
Founder Emeritus

Yves Nordmann, Founder Emeritus of WellDoc, was born in Switzerland and completed Medical School from 1993 to 1999 in Basel, Paris and New York. He specialized in pediatrics and served at the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Division of Pediatric Endocrinology, where he was awarded a Fellowship-Grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation.

Dr. Nordmann founded WellDoc together with Dr. Suzanne Clough and Ryan Sysko in 2005. Dr. Nordmann is a board certified pediatrician in Switzerland and holds the ECFMG Certification of the United States Medical Licensing Examination. Since June 2006 he owns a private pediatric practice in Zurich and since 2007 he acts as Chief Medical Director for E-Medicus, a Switzerland based company developing EMR and e-health solutions for private practices and clinics.

Dr. Nordmann is a member of the FMH Swiss Medical Association and of the Swiss Society of Pediatrics.
