John Hawks
Director
John Hawks is a pioneer in using professional information network (PINs) data as a sales force tool. He is credited with being the first person to translate the scientific research on social networks into a commercial application in the B2B market.
Hawks founded COMSORT in 1989. Working with leading researchers, COMSORT established a series of interactive workshops to transfer knowledge and skills from the research community to practicing physicians.
He studied diffusion of innovation and social network analysis literature and began to experiment with data collection techniques and systems to analyze data. Hawks determined that physicians operate within a very structured environment of interrelatedness and that innovations tend to follow the paths of advice-seeking and trust.
