Job Purpose
The Brand Marketing Director in will apply his/her talent and best-in-class downstream marketing experience to the successful launch of WellDoc's flagship diabetes product. This unique, full scale U.S. launch will become a landmark example of promoting a best-in-class, first-in-class mobile health product in the physician and reimbursement marketplace. As brand champion, this position will manage multifaceted responsibilities and will require a diverse, talented individual who excels in both internal and external cross-functional marketing collaborations.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have responsibility for:
- Successfully launching and managing WellDoc's flagship product, DiabetesManager®
- Championing the brand passionately across the enterprise and enthusiastically with all external customers
- Collaborating daily with our commercial partner in pursuit of brand objectives
- Guiding the development of rationale and decisions on pricing, promotions, distribution, market research, etc.
- Managing the development, implementation and execution of comprehensive, rationale marketing plans across a broad range of customer segments in the primary care and endocrinology channels
- Driving a sustainable competitive advantage by developing and championing the brand promise, strategic positioning, and messaging of the brand
- Personally meeting with customers and promoting our products in a variety of environments (corporate meetings, tradeshows, physician offices, etc.)
- Continuously expanding relationships with key opinion leaders and customers to uncover opportunities which enhance product line performance and maximize product line earnings
- Forecasting sales, developing a budget, maintaining and reporting performance metrics, and anticipating and hiring new staff when needed
- Conducting market assessments and competitive analysis
- Working cross-functionally to assist your colleagues in Product Marketing, Business Development, Managed Markets and Clinical Advocacy.
- Working closely with our clinical, behavioral and engineering teams to provide input from the market place to enhance our products and customer service
- Travel 20-30%
Required Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Successfully launched new products, especially those offering "new to the world" benefits and experiences
- Demonstrated success in working with large commercial partners
- 10+ years of marketing experience, with a preference for chronic diseases
- A passion for achieving best-in-class results and a heart for helping those with chronic diseases
- Experience in consumer and physician brand marketing
- Experience in one or more of the following fields is a plus: medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics or health insurance
- A blend of B2B, DTC, and Direct to Physician marketing skill sets
- Ability to work within the ambiguous nature of our nascent market
- Experience working within both large corporate and high growth start-up environments is a plus
- Strong strategic, tactical, and analytical skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to simultaneously roll-up the sleeves in a hands-on manner, as well as, demonstrate leadership by motivating teams of peers and successfully recruit, lead and develop new marketing talent
Required Education
- A Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or science plus
- MBA strongly preferred
