Differences Between Mobile and Medical Apps – Lots

With the thousands of health and fitness apps available to download and use on smartphones it’s a challenge for consumers to differentiate between these and what the U.S. FDA defines as medical mobile apps or digital health tools, explains Hope Warshaw, a nationally known diabetes educator and consultant to WellDoc. Today there are just a handful of medical mobile apps, like WellDoc’s BlueStar, that have proven results from clinical studies and have been cleared for use by the U.S. FDA.
