How to connect your devices

How to get started

Connecting devices will simplify your life by removing a step in managing your health — while also making it easier for your care team to access your updated information. Providing your care team with as much data as possible helps them make timely clinical decisions for your benefit. Additionally, by connecting your device, you will have the added benefit of AI-driven coaching and education. Please see the User Guide in the BlueStar app for more details.

You can set up and access your account using the BlueStar® web portal or the app on a mobile device (hint: using a mobile device is much more convenient).

  • From the web portal or mobile app, please enter the Access Code given to you by your care team to get started.
  • The next step is to acknowledge the Terms of Use and to provide Patient Authorization, which is necessary to allow the sharing of your personal health information with the app.
  • Next, enter your personal identifying information and the email address you would like to associate with your BlueStar account.
  • After you’ve done that, please answer a question concerning your medication prescriptions.
  • Now you’re ready to create a User Name and Password. We recommend writing these down separately and keeping them in a safe place for reference.
  • After specifying your type of diabetes, you’re ready to create your account. If you’re using your mobile phone to access your account, you will be prompted to create a PIN number to protect your health information and provide permission to receive notifications.
  • You’ll now be routed to the landing page of BlueStar and are ready to get started.
If you need any help, please reach out to Customer Care at 1-888-532-2997.
They will gladly help you connect your devices and answer any questions you may have.
