Mansur E. Shomali, MD, CM

Medical Director

Mansur has served as med­ical direc­tor at Well­doc since 2012, over­see­ing many of the clin­i­cal aspects of BlueS­tar®. He is also still active­ly involved in patient care, serv­ing patients with dia­betes and oth­er endocrine and meta­bol­ic con­di­tions at Med­star Union Memo­r­i­al Hos­pi­tal in Bal­ti­more, MD. In addi­tion, he main­tains an aca­d­e­m­ic affil­i­a­tion at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Mary­land School of Med­i­cine where he is a clin­i­cal asso­ciate pro­fes­sor, and also at the Johns Hop­kins Uni­ver­si­ty School of Med­i­cine as a mem­ber of the fac­ul­ty.

Mansur com­plet­ed an intern­ship and res­i­den­cy at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Mary­land School of Med­i­cine and his fel­low­ships in endocrinol­o­gy, dia­betes and metab­o­lism at Mass­a­chu­setts Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal and Har­vard Med­ical School in Boston, Mass­a­chu­setts. He received his under­grad­u­ate degree in bio­med­ical engi­neer­ing at the Johns Hop­kins Uni­ver­si­ty and his med­ical degree from McGill Uni­ver­si­ty in Mon­tre­al, Cana­da. He is cer­ti­fied by the Amer­i­can Board of Inter­nal Med­i­cine in endocrinol­o­gy, dia­betes and metab­o­lism. Mansur’s exper­tise is in com­plex phar­ma­co­log­ic approach­es and in the use of tech­nol­o­gy in health­care. He has pub­lished more than 25 peer-reviewed med­ical arti­cles and text­book chap­ters. Cur­rent­ly, he is an active mem­ber of the Amer­i­can Asso­ci­a­tion of Clin­i­cal Endocrinol­o­gy, the Amer­i­can Dia­betes Asso­ci­a­tion, and the Endocrine Soci­ety.
