Janice serves as the Director, Clinical Innovation for Welldoc partnering with healthcare teams, systems, professional organizations, and plans to integrate evidence-based technology tools (i.e., digital therapeutics) into clinical practice. Janice collaborates with market access, clinical product development, advocacy, customer care, and commercial teams in assuring optimal patient and healthcare team engagement and in communicating the vision for the role of technology in healthcare transformation.
Prior to her years at Welldoc, Janice served at the University of Maryland Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology as Senior Diabetes Network Coordinator. Janice also worked for many years at Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Care in a variety of roles including as Clinical Affairs Manager, providing clinical leadership in the development of web- and mobile-based diabetes management tools and as Senior Medical Science Liaison with Janssen/Johnson & Johnson supporting a first-in-class type 2 diabetes therapy.
Janice has served as both author and editor for multiple publications, contributed to book and curriculum manuals on diabetes, and has developed numerous continuing education programs and presentations in the areas of diabetes nutrition, glucose monitoring, digital health, and practice transformation. Janice works with an extensive network of leading international clinicians and researchers in the field of diabetes. Her passion is developing business-savvy solutions leveraging technology to transform diabetes care. Janice began her career as a diabetes dietitian and certified diabetes educator for Carilion Health System in Virginia.
